Messiah Community Church
Future Project: The Messiah Prison Ministry – Giving Hope for a Better Future
This project is close to our hearts and will be integral to the mission of our Church. Due to coronavirus-related issues, this project will commence in 2024.
Messiah Community Church will work closely with a number of prisons in the greater London area bringing hope, support and love to those who have been incarcerated. We believe that everyone should be valued and treated like a child of God, despite what society may have labelled them as.
Chaplaincy Team
We will work inside a prison alongside the Chaplaincy team and regularly teach and preach the word of God giving hope for a better future, forgiveness of others. We will also encourage the inmates to help them understand that they have a God-given purpose and we will keep in touch with many rehabilitated individuals once they are allowed back into the community.
Hope
We will not only work with the prisoners but we support their families as well. The families of those who are convicted go through depressing and dark times as well as worrying for the safety of their loved ones at times. We will support the children of inmates and make sure that they have the correct support from an educational and pastoral point of view. We will also welcome them to our Church and into our community with open arms and provide them with a strong support system. Additionally, we will pay regular visits on behalf of inmate’s family who for one reason or the other cannot go into the prisons and feedback to them.
Prison Prayer Group
We will meet regularly to pray for the needs within a designated prison. We cannot emphasise the importance of this role and know that many areas of the prison work is perfected because of this bedrock of prayer support.

Messiah Community Church Mission
At Messiah we neither proclaim our own wisdom nor power; we have nothing but what we have received; we do not wish to establish our own authority. We preach the word of Jesus Christ our Lord. We proclaim the author of this glorious Gospel as Christ and after sharing the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus said “Go and do likewise.” That is the mission of Messiah Church—to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.
